All gardeners and homeowners should know that there is an alternative to synthetic chemical insecticides, one they can confidently use on their grounds. Nature's Insect Guard is a blend of organic ingredients and scents, including garlic extract, that have been shown to repel harmful insects and thus protect plants, people and animals. This formulation has been used successfully around homes, zoos, municipal and private parks (including Busch Gardens), stables and farms. There is very little odor to this product, and it usually dissipates within an hour.

Garlic (cloves and juices) has long been recognized as an insect deterrent. Garlic also masks the parasite attracting signals (or auras) that plants emit. The concentrated garlic extract in Nature's Insect Guard is a more powerful form of garlic, so a little bit goes a long way,

Though Garlic is one of the essential ingredients in this product, it is far from the only reason it works so well. Nature's Insect Guard contains a formula of sucrose and complexed carbohydrates that increase plant energy (or brix levels) which then makes plants less attractive to parasites. It also contains sulfur, iron, selenium (an antioxidant), and other micronutrients that give a plant energy that helps it ward off pests and insects.

Did you know?
Healthy plants are more resistent to insects. Farmers know that insects will walk right through (or fly over) a healthy crop to get to a weak or stressed one. Lack of water and nutrients are the most obvious stresses, but even when supplied, many plants still suffer due to soil compaction around the roots. They can't utilize the water and nutrients properly without aeration. If you have compacted or clay soil, we recommend using our AERIFY! Liquid Soil Aerator and Clay Loosener.

Mosquitoes/Ticks/Fleas. Aside from protecting our plants, Nature's Insect Guard can also protect our animals and us from insects like mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks. The Garlic and other ingredients and scents in our product will work to both repel these insects and camouflage the scents they are seeking out.

Nature's Insect Guard is harmless to animals, trees, crops and ground water and is accepted by most certification agencies as "organic".

DO NOT spray during pollination time as it may temporarily deter bees.

Foliar Spraying Tips

Spray early to late morning for better absorption. Early evening is the next best time.

Avoid spraying during the heat of the day or the spray can evaporate before it is absorbed.

Add some soap to help the spray spread and stick better. A fine mist spray sticks best, but hose-end sprayers can be effective if done a little more heavily and during the right time of day.

Try to reach the underside of leaves because that is where most of the pores (stomata) are.

Nature's Insect Guard can also be used with any of our other foliar and soil applied products as well as most other liquid products on the market. Compatibility tests are recommended.

General Application Information

PLANT PROTECTION:
Homeowners: 4 oz (1/2 cup) per 1000 sf in ½ -2 gallons of water applied every 4 weeks.1 During times of heavy infestation you can spray every 2 weeks at ½ rate or higher. A fine mist or Pump Sprayer (4 oz per gallon) works best. Spray all foliage and try to reach the underside of leaves too. Denser foliage may increase the amount needed. An adjustable Hose-End Sprayer set to 2 oz per Gallon can also be used for lawn and foliar applications, but spray quickly to avoid waste. If there is heavy rainfall or watering (over 4") you may have to apply more often. We suggest adding a small amount of dish soap (1/2 oz per every 4 oz of Nature's Insect Repellent) to help it stick to plants. You can use Aerify instead of soap if desired.

Agricultural: 1 Qt per acre every two weeks or 1-2 gallons per acre every 6-8 weeks. Use a minimum of 5 gallons of water per acre.

MOSQUITOES/TICKS/FLEAS
Spray everything in the yard at the 4 oz per 1000 sf rate, with soap added. This includes grass, all plants, mulch, trees (as high as you can go) including trunk, and around the base of decks (test a small area to see if it stains).

If you have standing water, add an equal amount of vegetable oil (4 oz/1000sf) to the mix (soybean, corn, canola etc…) to help suffocate mosquito larvae in the water. Do not use oil if treating fish ponds.
